Bisdak Invasion of Corregidor Island

Being colonized by several countries made our country very rich in terms of History and Culture. We have been exceedingly endowed with Western influence that we have learned to adapt their ways in our daily lives.

This colonization resulted to mass occupation of foreign diplomats that ensued from a hostile situation caused by dreadful wars and military conflicts. Thus, we have several places designated as military bastions like Corregidor Island which played a significant role molding our Philippine History.

Locally called as Isla ng Corregidor, this island located at the entrance of Manila Bay served to protect the bay years ago from aggressive invasion.

Today, Corregidor Island has become one of the country’s most visited tourist attraction which offers both educational and fun-filled excursion.

Since we went there on a weekday we paid P2350/pax. You have to be there early. In fact, we were apprehensive because our flight in Cebu departs at 5am and approximately will arrive after an hour. Not discounting the fact that it is within Manila, so you have to anticipate the traffic going to the Ferry Terminal (Seaside Blvd. MOA Complex). Thankfully we arrived there at 6:35 am but we were already chance passengers since we did not have a reservation. When the guard told us that there’s a big possibility that we won’t be accommodated due to the number of tourists already registered, we were sad but still hopeful that they will still be able to welcome 2 more passengers. Our prayers were answered so to speak.

Travel time is a little over an hour and boarding time is 30 mins before the scheduled departure time which is 8am.

For those visitors who availed a day tour package, the ferry leaves the island at 2:30 pm and ETA Manila is 3:45 pm.

Note:

Check-in counter opens 1 hour before scheduled time of departure and strictly close 30 minutes before departure. Passengers who arrive after the cut-off time will not be allowed to go on board.
