Best Western Cebu Sandbar Resort

Hotels and Resorts sprout like mushrooms in Mactan, Cebu. It’s like every year that there are new Resorts introduced to the public.

While Best Western Sand Bar Resort had its soft opening last April 2013, I was more interested to try their Buffet Lunch since construction is still ongoing.

                                                                            pool area

I was even more enticed to give them a visit when a Tour Guide friend told me about her experience at the said Resort.
                                                                        beach front

                                                         resort activities include kayaking

So off we went to this resort armed only with a mobile phone camera and escorted with good friends.

The place is indeed unfinished yet but you can already ascertain that the resort is almost done. Staffs are friendly and accommodating and we were even toured around the place and inside their deluxe rooms for us to appreciate them even more. Most of the deluxe rooms are facing the sea enhanced with the breathtaking view of their pool area.

Part of our plan of visiting the resort was to sample their buffet lunch priced at P350 inclusive of one round of iced tea. For me the price is just right for the food being served from the usual Filipino Food and Japanese delights to Grilled Sea Produce, Fruits and Salads. Buffet starts at 11:30am and ends at 2:00pm.

                                                                 a gastronomic delight

Soups (Crab and Corn, Lomi, Macaroni)

                                                                    Japanese Food

                                                                  Fruits and Desserts

                                                                         Fresh Salad

                                                                         Pork Picatta

                                                                            Bam-i

                                                                       fish with tausi

The place is great for family bonding away from the hustle and bustle of City Life.

Tymad Bistro

I have learned that food blogging is like going on a journey towards your heart’s content. You search, you discover, you feel, you taste and finally you experience having a happy tummy.

And just like the rest of us who seemed to have an insatiable appetite for great food, we are always on a mission of finding the best place that serves happiness in every plate.

I know that I have been guilty of endless hunting for excellent food and it’s a vicious cycle because once I’ve conquered that place I moved on to the next.

This place however, Tymad Bistro conveniently located at Paseo Saturnino, Banilad Cebu City is an exception. It is one of the many restaurants that I choose to visit over and over. They are equipped with high-end customer service, superior and classy ambiance and most importantly the delectable and totally appetizing food they served.

Owned by a French Chef, this place tops all in terms of elegant dining experience and posh milieu which really sets out a blissful mood.

You have to try their tasty Cotes de Porc Persillade (pork chop), Filet Mignon de Porc Au Poivre (Pork Loin) and Poulet Tarragon (Chicken). These menus are best served with Red Wine.

Cotes de Porc Persillade (Pork Chop)

Filet Mignon de Porc Au Poivre (Pork Loin)

                                                             Poulet Tarragon (Chicken)

They also have a delightful selection of desserts that you really need to sample. Topping the list would be Parfait au Chocolait, a gluey chocolate treat with sweet sauce on the side.

Though not far behind is Nutty Chantilly, a thin crepe served with Nutella spread, formed like a star plus cream that provides an additional flavor.

Two-thumbs up for this place!

Ralfe Gourmet Chocolate Boutique

Nothing is sweeter than the gift of friendship. It is a delicious treat that has no expiry, doesn’t spoil and comes with a promise of unconditional care and love.

Like friendship, Chocolates serve as a catalyst of fulfilling this promise because it is composed of happy juices bursting with various flavors fit for different emotions.

Call me crazy but when I am sad, I resort to eating chocolates and with every bite, I begin to feel better and happier.

So when a friend asked me to visit an exclusive place for chocolate lovers in Casal’s Village Mabolo called Ralfe Gourmet, I didn’t think twice and said yes right away especially when she told me that every food served is made from chocolates or served with chocolates.

                                                                   chocolate spaghetti

                                                                 chocolate longganisa

Cafe Malmo, A Fusion Restaurant

I believe in food therapy and that food feeds "positivity" in our character. I for one resort to eating my favorite food when I am sad or feeling blue. It goes without saying that food makes me happy.

It was one Sunday morning when I decided to visit Malmo, Sweden by going to Cafe Malmo. It is a Swedish-themed restaurant conveniently located beside Gaisano Grand Mall. They are open daily  from 9:00 am to 3:00 am.

The patrons of this restaurant are mostly Europeans, Koreans and Japanese. However what they usually order are Filipino dishes that satisfies their palate.

I must admit I am a Food Lover, a Food Enthusiast, a Food Connoisseur and that Cafe Malmo meets all these. I simply love their rib-eye steak and their mouth-watering cheesecake.

All of their wines are directly imported from France.

Cafe Malmo is the best place to hang out for people who love fine dining, excellent service and great ambiance.

Their walls are adorned with photos of European places and tourists spots.

Civet Coffee, Shangs Island Town Center

It is said to be one of the world's priciest if not the most expensive coffee. But what makes it more interesting is that it is supposedly the "dung" of the civet cat or a type of a cat-like species.

The civet cat eats the coffee beans and the processing starts while it is inside the animal's abdomen. When it is released from the insides of the cat, the "poop beans" remain intact. It is then processed by separating the untouched coffee bean from the stool, wash it then sun dried. And voila, the pricey coffee is then made.

Coffee and Tea are best served with mouth-watering cakes, cupcakes and doughnuts.

                                                           Most Expensive Poop Drink

Kopi Luwak as it is also known worldwide is the most expensive cat-poop drink. It will definitely awaken your senses not just because of its bitter, sharp and minty taste but also because of its price. This cup of coffee costs P750 per cup. On the other hand, the Korean Barista of this Coffee Shop is at the same time the owner and personally prepares this distinctive coffee.

This coffee shop is very near the Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa, so head on to Civet Coffee if you want to try an alternative way to satisfy your coffee cravings.

Chocolate Makes You Kiss

It was one Sunday afternoon when friends got together and decided to go on a sugar rush. There is this new place very near the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug which offers a delightful array of sweets. It seems that the objective of this place is to awaken one’s gustatory senses from a deep slumber of the traditional way of preparing desserts.

Aptly called Chocolate Makes You Kiss or simply CMYK, sweet-toothed patrons are in for a treat from tasty appetizers to delectable main courses down to mouthwatering desserts.

It is conveniently located along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Lahug Cebu City.

                                                            Banana Coffee Frappuccino

                                                                      Fresh Lumpia

Doing away with the usual style of wrapping a fresh lumpia, clients are given a different but still soft lumpia wrapper.

                                                                      Mac and Cheese

This is another creative way of serving mac and cheese. Macaroni pasta serves as a filling inside a lumpia wrapper, cooked then served with a cheesy dip.

                                                           Fube Cake (Fresh Ube Cake)

Pavlova (Meringue with slices of mangoes and mango syrup)

Sizzling CMYK (fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce)

Forever Alone (eggless custard baked in an empty egg shell)
