Jack's Ridge, Davao

Dining On the Edge at Jack's Ridge

The hills are alive with the sound of munching at Jack’s Ridge Resort conveniently located at the steep hills of Davao City.

It is one of the famous restaurants in Davao City. In fact once you hit the search button in google while looking for a place to eat in Davao City, Jack’s Ridge definitely tops the list.
Armed with the desire to satisfy our curiosity, off we go to Jack’s Ridge Resort. We rode a taxi from People’s Park and paid around P120-P130 cab fare.
The road going there may be steep and hilly but the view was picturesque, a stunning nature at its best.

What I love most about the place is the ambiance defined by exquisite scenery which probably is the reason that brings out the appetizing experience while dining at their restaurant.

We ordered their specialty of the month which is the flavorful chicken stew and we paired it with the seafood supreme which is a delectable blend of crustacean bits and pieces garnished with spices and herbs generously soaked in coco milk.

Blugre Coffee

Blugre'cious Durian Coffee

Food trip and traveling are synonymous to enjoyable experience. It tells many tales, different stories and various encounters that leave a satisfying “gastronomic” mark.

It was my first time in Davao so I solicited Lord Google’s opinion on what to do when in Davao. Instead of giving me what to achieve in Davao, it told me to please the “coffee-addict” in me.  Lo and behold Blugre Coffee!

Since Davao is rich in Durian fruit, a couple from Manila decided to brew a fusion of coffee bean and durian fruit. Voila! Larcepuccino and Gatchpuccino were born.

A must try is their Gatchpuccino which coincidentally is my favorite. It is a delicious concoction comparable to a cup of hot cocoa and champorado but with bits of durian fruit.

Larcepuccino, the cold version of the durian coffee drink tastes more bitter than Gatchpuccino. But hey we all have our preferences. So, if you happen to be in Davao you definitely need to check out one of their branches for a unique coffee treat.

The store also houses a wide variety of cakes and pastries such as their best sellers: red velvet cake and durian cheesecake.

They have 3 branches in Davao:
